ASTCT Premier Awards
These awards are given in recognition of individuals who have dedicated their time, knowledge and expertise to improve the work of the hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and cellular therapy community. Nominees should exhibit vast experience, critical knowledge, enhanced skills and unparalleled compassion.
Awards will be presented to recipients at the 2025 Tandem Meetings | Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASTCT® and CIBMTR®.

Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an eminent scientist or physician who has made continuing contributions to the BMT and cellular therapy fields through the advancement of knowledge via basic or clinical science. View past recipients.

Public Service Award
The Public Service Award, presented at each year's Annual Meeting, recognizes an individual who has advanced the interests of the BMT and cellular therapy field or has given special service to the patients and families that we serve. Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Editorial Awards
Manuscripts submitted to Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, ASTCT's monthly journal, are eligible for one of three editorial awards. These awards, which include a $5,000 prize, are conferred by Editor-in-Chief Robert Korngold, PhD, and Deputy Editor David Porter, MD, and are presented at a special awards ceremony at the Tandem Meetings of ASTCT & CIBMTR.
E. Donnall Thomas Lecture
The E. Donnall Thomas Lecture, presented at each year's Annual Meeting, recognizes an eminent physician or scientist, either a clinician or an investigator, who has contributed meritoriously to the advancement of knowledge in blood and marrow transplantation. The lecturer does not necessarily have to be a member of ASTCT. The honoree receives a plaque, along with expenses to attend the Annual Meeting. View past recipients.

New Investigator Awards
The New Investigator Awards are designed to encourage clinical or laboratory research by young investigators in the BMT and cellular therapy fields. The award — $50,000 per year, typically for two years — preferably is to be used to support the investigator's salary for his or her research effort. Alternatively, the award may be used for direct support of research costs.

Fellow of ASTCT (FASTCT)
This distinction recognizes ASTCT members for their volunteer service, dedication, and commitment to ASTCT. Recipients have carried out efforts that benefit ASTCT, the specialty of transplantation and cellular therapy, and the patients whom they serve. Learn more.
ASH-ASTCT Career Development Award
ASTCT has partnered with the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR®)/ NMDP℠ on the ASH-ASTCT Career Development Award. The award aims increase the number of hematologists from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds in medicine pursuing careers in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and cellular therapy. The award is designed for clinical and translational researchers who intend for clinical care of patients to be a part of their future career. Pharmacy SIG Awards
The ASTCT Pharmacy SIG honors its membership with three annual awards.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an ASTCT Pharmacy SIG member who has made a significant impact in the field hematopoietic stem cell transplant and has been in practice for at least 10 years.
- The New Practitioner Award is presented to an ASTCT Pharmacy SIG member who is within the first 5 years of his/her career and who has made significant contributions to the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
- The Clinical Excellence Award is awarded to an ASTCT Pharmacy SIG member who has made a significant impact in the field of pharmacy in hematopoietic stem cell transplant through patient and/or practice advocacy.
Nursing SIG Awards
ASTCT honors transplant nurses with two annual awards.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an ASTCT Nursing SIG member who has made a significant impact in the field of BMT nursing and has been in practice for at least 10 years.
- The Clinical Excellence Award is presented to a nurse who has made a significant impact in the field of BMT nursing or achieved a professional milestone.

Advanced Practice Provider SIG Lifetime Achievement Award
ASTCT honors individuals in the field with two annual awards.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact in the field of HCT and cellular therapy and has been in practice for at least 10 years.
- The Rising Star Award (New in 2025) recognizes an Advanced Practice Provider, practicing for 10 years or less, who has shown exceptional promise in transplant and cellular therapy. This award recognizes an emerging leader whose actions and activities exemplify excellence in patient care, clinical research, a commitment to education, or leadership. For details, click here.

Survivorship SIG Awards
ASTCT honors individuals in the field with two annual awards. Survivorship encompasses late effects, quality of life, and care of transplant and cellular therapy recipients. Both awards are open to all disciplines.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a lasting commitment to the survivorship field through outstanding contributions to education, research, health policy or practice.
- The Early-Career Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has completed their terminal research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training, whichever date is later, within the past 10 years, who has made recent outstanding contributions in education, research, and health policy or practice.
